Did you get a chance to read our last blog yet? If you have, then you already know that there are many things that you can do to help you remember to take your birth control pills everyday. To recap, our OBGYN in Venice talked about setting a recurring alarm, attaching a note to your coffee pot or toothbrush and asking a friend to help you remember. The following is a list of our last few tips to help you to remember to take your birth control:

  • Keep your pills visible- The phrase “out of sight, out of mind” is so very true, especially when it comes to pills. If you don’t see your pills, you are a lot less likely to remember to take them. Keep them somewhere visible, like on your bathroom counter or your nightstand.
  • Label your pills or use a pill box- If you forget to take a pill or two, it is all too easy to get confused about which pill you are on. Make sure that you are taking the right pill for the right day by labeling your pills with the days of the week or placing them in a pill reminder box.
  • Make it a ritual- Mornings are often crazy and hectic, so wake up a couple of minutes early and make a ritual out of taking your pills. Make a cup of coffee or tea, grab your favorite section of the newspaper and take a few moments to relax. This will help you to actually look forward to taking your pill each morning!
