Both acute and chronic stress can actually change your hormonal balance. This can lead to late, missed or irregular periods. According to researchers, women who have stressful jobs have a much higher chance of having a short cycle than women who don’t .
No one wants to have to deal with acne, but if you are stressed, you will have a much more difficult time fighting it off. That’s because high levels of the stress hormone, cortisol, for an extended period of time actually increases the production of oil in your skin.
#3. Reduced Sex Drive
When cortisol levels are elevated, it can suppress your body’s sex hormones. That’s why, after a big, stressful life event, such as moving, getting married or starting a new job, many women experienced a lower libido.
