Do you have a feeling that you may be pregnant?
If so, you’ve come to the right place! We are University Park Obstetrics and Gynecology, and our nurse midwife in Bradenton has helped many women through successful pregnancies and births. There’s nothing more exciting than the possibility of creating a new life, but what do you do when you think you might be pregnant? Here are your next few steps:
Step #1. Take a home pregnancy test.
Purchase one (or several) home pregnancy test and plan a time to take it. Although the instructions will usually tell you to take your test in the morning, don’t plan to take it before you go to work in the morning. Regardless of the news, you are going to need some time to process it, so plan to take it on a day off.
Step #2. Visit your OBGYN.
Now it’s time to schedule an appointment with your OBGYN. He or she will confirm your pregnancy, make sure that you are healthy and address any questions or concerns that you may have.
Step #3. Plan a time to tell your family.
After you’ve had the confirmation from your doctor that you are, in fact, pregnant, you and your partner will need to sit down and figure out when to tell your family. Many people will tell you to wait until after your first trimester to start spreading the news, but your mom or other family members with kids may be able to give helpful advice, so don’t hesitate to confide in someone close if you wish.
If you have a feeling that you are pregnant, take your test and call us today to schedule your appointment!
