Should you breastfeed your baby?
When it comes to breastfeeding, there is no shortage of opinions. It seems like everyone has an opinion about whether or not you should breastfeed your baby, but it is a decision that every mother has to make on their own. However, before you decide, you have to know all of the facts! That’s why our last blog was all about the advantages of breastfeeding. Keep reading to learn about more of the benefits that come from breastfeeding:
#4. Save Money
It’s no secret that kids are expensive, but you’ll be glad to know that feeding your newborn doesn’t have to be expensive! Breastfeeding requires no fancy formulas, and it’ll save you from having to sterilize nipples, measure out the formula or warm the bottles, which will save you both money and time. Not only will breastfeeding save you money now, but babies who were breastfed are much less likely to need excessive medical treatment while they grow.
#5. Lose Pregnancy Weight Quickly
Breastfeeding can help you lose weight more quickly after you’ve had your baby because it can burn between 300-500 calories every day. In fact, a portion of the weight that you gained during pregnancy is actually a source of energy for lactation! In addition to losing weight, breastfeeding helps you get your old body back in other ways as well, one of which is due to the release of the hormone oxytocin, which helps the uterus to shrink back to its normal size.
